The origin of life, evolution and extinction
We began this section by looking at the origins of life on Earth.
Here's the video we watched in a lesson, putting forward the mainstream scientific view of how life started around three billion years ago:
The author of this video is perhaps a bit preoccupied with debunking anti-evolution claims made by creationists, but the science in this and the other two videos below is very sound and clearly explained. If you are religious, remember that this doesn't actually need to be debate about the existence of God, but it is a debate about whether the intervention of a creator is necessary to explain the origin and variety of life...
